BA degree required to become police SHO SHO across the country, federal govt decides to change criminal laws
Following the changes in the law, a BA degree is now required to become a SHO
Cases must be decided within 9 months and if not, the judges concerned will be accountable to the High Court.
Police stations across the country will be funded by the government for stationery, transport and other necessary expenses.
Punishment for common crimes will be reduced from 5 years to 6 months.
There will be no bargaining in murder, rape, terrorism, treason and serious cases.
After changes in the rules, mobile footage, photos, voice recordings and modern devices will be recognized as evidence.
The amendments will be tabled in the cabinet for approval next week and will likely be tabled in parliament on Wednesday.
